Thread: Ca and Alk Testing Success!

  1. #1

Default Ca and Alk Testing Success!

I got free Calcium and Alkalinity tests from Habib @ Salifert at MACNA and have been afraid to use them since the first time I tried

    It wasn't that bad! lol
My Calcium tested right at 420 and my alkalinity at 8 dkh.

Are these pretty good results? I think I may need to get my dkh up a bit...

Also, I am interested in getting new test kits for everything and Im curious as to what other people are using, especially Mg and K+

For some reason, I thought I read about a new test kit for Ca and Alk that was fast, easy, and accurate...

on a side note, Im trying to get my Alk up to 10dkh just to be safe

Salifert kits are NOT the easiest to use. But, think of it this way: KNOWING that the #1 complaint about their kits is "ease of use" (well, it might be price too...), you know that they won't sacrifice accuracy for ease of use.

BTW, have you ever used the Iodine kit? OMG.
