Thread: If you can't beat 'em... (bribe 'em)

Default If you can't beat 'em... (bribe 'em)

LOL After getting dirty looks from my better half for the amount of time I spent working on my tank or researching stuff for my tank (or buying stuff for my tank... or discussing my tank... etc.) I decided that action must be taken. During a trip to Aquatek today she made the comment that "All I want is a tank where I can have a mandarin and a cardinal..."

Well, lo and behold River City had a used 24g nano cube with stand on sale, so I picked it up for her as an early Valentine's Day gift and she's THRILLED with the idea. So, just an idea for you guys out there: if you can't beat 'em, beat 'em into submission with a tank of their own. ;-)

PS- When she joins MAAST just know that I will deny ever having made this post... ;-) j/k (kinda)

Wow thats a great gift! I'd rather get a tank for Vday than flowers and candy. Even if it is just to shut me up Have fun with the tank!

Good work A.J. wish I could get my wife to join in. Make sure you stock plenty of pods. One mandarin will plow through pods in a tank that small. Randy from reef nutrition said thay had a high rate of success getting mandarins to eat tigger pods and arctic pods.

Oh my god. What have I done?! My girlfriend looks at me this morning with a worried look on her face... "I think I need a bigger tank!"

    ...and so it starts. LOL

I dont know about you guys but my wife can care less about my aquariums. She has no interest in the hobby and ive been keeping tank our entire relationship. She thinks the fish a pretty but could care less about having them for her own. I prefer it this way; I have my own hobby to get away to.

A.J......I know the feeling. My wife decided to set-up my old 37 hex and with-in two weeks I was buying a 110g. It's totally wrong...I had to wait two years to up-grade! It is nice having her share my passion...

    Cool

It is nice to share this hobby with your spouse, but you can't lie to her about that $20 ($80) for that piece of coral anymore..

That's cool A.J. I'm glad she's getting into it. Although she is already a pro at freshwater aquariums from what you've told me.

And just for the record, whenever my husband and I go to fish stores they're always surprised to hear that it's ME that's got the saltwater tank and he's just the spectator! =)

I've been told several times that it's primarily a 'Man's hobby'. LOL....
