I bought a Wii when they came out last year & it was fun at first but it's too simple and most of the games are terrible I thought(besides Wii Sports). I sold it for what I paid for it about a month later. I'm much happier with my new Xbox 360.

I bought one for my older son last year, it seems that it is great for the young and the older crowds. My 14 year old got bored with it after a while and went back to the PS3. The bowling was a blast until I threw out my arm. It is awesome for parties because everyone can play.
still got one and the dust on it is about 4 inches thick....
xbox 360 all the way
Like I said though. I'm not a gamer, and certainly don't have the time to take it up if I wanted. This is something that I can do with my daughter who is four and has started to like video games, and when I do play I like a little more action in the game (myself, not some guy on the tube). I also like that they've made a bunch that are actually useful (as in learning aid style) for a child also. Not that I didn't enjoy regular video games but it's nice to make learning fun also.

This thread made me sick :( I had the chance to buy a Wii about a month ago on base so there would be no taxes and i knew the demand would be high again but i passed on it!!!
I got my father a Wii for fathers day and he loves it. All we have is the Wii sports and Wii play (Wii play is only worth it for the extra controller) and its a blast. My dad is content but id like to get some other games while im here for Christmas break. My nephews 3 & 5 love to play it. The 5 year old can bowl a 260 (no joke and thats not easy on the Wii) I def think its worth having especially if you have kids or grandkids, but wait until after Christmas to buy one if you dont already have one

ive never liked console games, but i find myself more and more wanting to buy a wii.
i was one of those bad people who pre-ordered 10 xbox 360 premiums and resold them on ebay... you shouldnt do that. i really needed the money, but looking back, tactics like that are despicable.
like those people buying hanna montanna tickets and reselling them for 1 grand and up, thats ridiculous!
but yeah, the Wii is a ton of fun!
brewercm, for what you want it for it's great. My daughter (also 4) an I play it together all the time. When her grandparents come over we all play together.
