    let the fun begain






    the result. a 50-55lb mahi mahi, 20min fight on light tackle, 20lb test line.


    had a hard time getting into the tank.... so i put it in the freezer.


    before the filleting. the big mahi was cut into four 10" long sections on each side. the fillets were 3" thick. the fish was frozen and packed in ice chest to bring back. my freezer is full of mahi mahi.
    total fish count.
    7 mahi mahi
    4 small bonita's ( small tuna)
    1 shark

    oh well in december im movin to the coast to work for LCRA so i will get my fill of fishing in

    this was in puerto vallarta this past weekend. I have lived on the coast most my life and don't get to do this kinda fishing much. it was a blast.

    Nice catches...I have always said that the Mahi Mahi , Dolphin , Dorado ( all the same fish ) have the most beautiful colors when you first bring them in. The blue , greens and yellows are amazing. I caught a 48lb bull when I was 11 yrs old when I still lived in FL. Oh and I used to throw back all those bonitas...their nickname in FL was "bloody tuna" for obvious reasons...they made good sharkbait though.
