  1. #1

Thumbs down what do you do when your angry?

lately there have been alot of things going on in my life that i have just been getting totally ****ed off over. i don't know what to do anymore. before i would go sit in front of on of my tanks and cool off. it gave me time to think about my next move, but that has stopped working. i am looking for other ways to release and no, drinking doesn't help! how do you release anger and stress?

Interesting question. I think all of us have those moments in our lives where it seems like everything that can possibly go wrong does or at least seems that way. With that said the Storm always passes. Working out or going to the gym has always been a good stress relief for my self.

I have to say that I buy coral or fish also. Then you'll spend a lot more time staring at your tank again.

Of course that means that being angry is expensive also.

I like to choose a perfectly innocent household appliance and destroy it. Works good until a week later when you need that appliance, then your just ****ed off again.

Just don't punch holes in the walls. Too much work to repair plus it's hard to explain to the wife. Uh I just slipped honey and the drywall busted when I tried to catch myself...yeah four times.

Throwing things works pretty well, however I have the same problem trying to explain the holes in the walls (Well darling, the phone just slipped out of my hands...)

Actually, when I can make myself slow down just a tiny bit, I find that prayer works quite well.

Shouldn't there be a shorter word for "monosyllabic"?

For the first 4 months or so, when my wife was pregnant with our daughter, she drove me pretty crazy, and we got into some pretty bad fights. In the span of less than a month I spent over $1200 on cell phones. Alot of the fights were over the phone, and i would get so angry that I would smash the phone on the ground. You would think I would've picked something else to break after one or two phones, but in the heat of the moment all logic goes right out the window.

I'm happy to report that I've had the same cell phone for well over a year now. I suppose being a parent has made me "grow up" a bit. That and my wifes hormones are back to normal!!

When I was younger I let everything get to me. I was an angry little person. Not to mention I raced bicycles and rode a minimum of 70 miles a day. For some reason that kind of activity seemed to keep me on a hormonal roller coaster. I also hung out with less than desirable people.

What I found was when I removed myself from some of those types of situations, my chaces of being in stressful situations lessened. When I moved away from shady roomates into a place of my own, I only had myself to blame. That quickly cured the problems of missing rent and utilities money. A huge stress release came from that. I also believe in a cash only system, no credit cards. You wouldn't believe how much stress that can prevent. I took every class and advanced as high as I could at work so as to make myself a valuable asset there. I found it is important to not bring your work home with you. Work is work, and home time is home time.

I guess what I'm saying is, and this is true of high nitrates, find the source of the problems and work from there out. Maybe if you can identify all of these new stressors you can prepare yourself for them and make decisions that prevent the feeling of cave-ins.

Prayers work great, just remember that your being tested and if you pass the test better things will come your way.
There's an old saying (I was mad cause I couldn't buy new shoe's, until I saw the man that no feet). There's always someone else that has it a little worse than we do.
