OK.. Im getting crazy charges. I wanted to see what other maastes bills are. What you are running in lights and size of tank or tanks. Then what was there bill this month or last month.

Mine is.

2 Mags
1 pond pump
150g
29g


Bill 340.00 this month Always around the 260 to 320.


I feel that my bill is too high. I dont know if its because of the tanks or there is somethen else wronge. And If the other tanglewoods peeps would jump in this too.

Before the switch over we had a energy consumption calculator. Reefcentral has one on their page and you can enter in the power rate for your area (should be on your bill). Then you can key in the wattage w/ amount of time a day to get a rough estimate of how much your tank sets you back....

My last bill was 120 +/- 5 dollars. Gotta love an apartment!

If you look at your usage chart which is on your bill you can see what you used this month versus last year at the same time. One thing that no one at CPS wants you to know is during the summer they raise the surge charge to the extreme. If you would normally have a 200 bill, in the summer you will have a 300 bill just because of the surcharges. They advertise six cents a kilowatt hour but that is before surcharge which takes it up to 10 cents. I am not sure but I think if you do not live in the city it is higher? I guess they figured if the phone company could do it they can too! Hopefully when the second coal plant comes on line they will knock the surcharges down?
