    Default Startin a 10g nano

I was just given a 10g tank w/ freshwater fish in it but they are now in my sons freshwater tank. I have WAYYY to much fish junk in my fish room so i was thinkin about puttin some of the junk to use. I have a 175w MH fixture lots of HOB filters and an old red sea prism skimmer. Right now all i want in there is corals and maybe a clown gobie like a panda of a green banded one. Should i put the prism on one side and a little HOB filter like a penguin 20 bio-wheel filter on the other? Will this light give my poor little goby a MAJOR tan. I also have a PC ballast that can go 2 65w bulbs but i would much rather have the shimmer effect of the MH maybe i can put a 20k bulb on it? As for cycling i kinda wanted a salt white sand bed in it but that means i need to buy some cause my 100 is BB but i think i could manage to donate a few peices of LR from my 100 to the 10. Has anyone here tried something like this? If so how long did the cycle take when using mature LR with new sand. Thanks yall might have to chalk one more up to the nano club!

if one of the HOBs is an aquaclear there are tons of ways to turn it into a fuge. very popular with the nano crowd.

I used all of the LR, sand and some water from mine into a 12g nano. Added fish the same day, and they are all alive. They did not show any signs of stress. HTH!
