    Default Eels for sale

I am selling my eels due to a down grade for a bit. I am looking to sell them to someone who has at least 75-gallons but 100-gallons preferrably, which is needed due to their size. Both eat smelt, which is bought from the Kemah fish markets and occasionally shellfish that can be found at any frozen fish market. Both eels have been my possession for over 6 months and were previously owned by my brother-in-law for a few years. I recommend that they don't be kept in an already crowded tank, especially since both are expected to grow in size if given the room.

The first one is a Golden Tail moray, and is "gentle" and not aggressive unless it is hungry. I have the "golden morph", which is very rare in the trade so I am asking for $150. The one I have is about 14-18" long, but generally stays behind the rockwork. I don't know if this one can be kept with other ornamentals that are small and hang out in the rocks, but it can be kept with larger fish.

    From WetWebMedia.com
    • Gymnothorax miliaris Kaup 1856, the Golden Tail Moray. Western Atlantic; Florida to the Antilles. To twenty eight inches in length. One of my favorite aquarium members of the family due to its inherent small size, good looks, and good numbers to be found in the wild. A head of one off of Bimini, and a tail for show in Cozumel. Also occurs as a "golden morph", shown below.

The second eel is a Fimbriated Moray, which is more aggressive than the other. When he is hungry, do not put things in the tank that he can swallow, including new additions to the tank. ***It is always good to feed him before adding new fish, or he will try to taste it.*** He is a fast eater, so when you put the food in, it will come up to get it if you don't get to him fast enough. I am only asking for $50 for him. This one should only be kept in an aggressive tank.

    From WetWebMedia
    • Gymnothorax fimbriatus (Bennett 1832), the Fimbriated Moray. To 80 cm. (32 inches) in length. Indo-Pacific; Madagascar to Society Islands. Feed on fish and crustaceans at night. Nuka Hiva, Marquesas, Polynesia pix.

Please feel free to ask here about the eels or PM me. If you would like to look at them first, please let me know so I can make sure I am available. If you need, please call me at 281-658-2925.

I would also consider delivering on my next drive to SA. I plan on coming out there sometime in the next months or so.

I will entertain trades for equipment. I am collecting items for a large in-wall tank build.
