I have been told that it is better to wait 1 day or even 2 days to add part 2 of bionic. I am new to reef tanks just wondering if there is a benefit to adding the 2nd part later vs waiting 10 min then adding the 2nd part.

I add one right after the other with no problems, if you add the Alk part first, just wait till the cloud disappears before adding the Ca. Where did you get that info from, never heard that before, been doing it for years.

Going to change my screenname to ReefCube soon!
I've heard that numerous times using "other" products. I switched to B-Ionic as it is labeled for instant use. As was said add the Alk, wait 10-15 minutes until it mixes and then add the CA. The other brands claim it will immediately bind and fall out of suspension close to what we know as aragonite.

I know a few people that dose B-ionic part 1 in the morning and part 2 at night for reasons listed above...personally I swear by B-ionic and I use both parts back to back without any adverse effects. Similarly I have used Kent 2 part and two little fishies (I think c-balance?) dosed the same as B-ionic with-out ill effects.
I think the main idea is to let the Alk part soak in as much as possible before adding the calcium. I usually wait 10-20 minutes before dosing the second part of the solution.
