I had to get into my grandma's house one time, and yeah it was fairly easy. It depends on the door really. I was able to wiggle enough to get a flathead in there and release the lock with the tap of a rock on the end of the flathead.

I had to get into my old APT one time threw a sliding glass door. After i jimmy'd the lock the metal bar was easy all i did was push on one side of the door and reached between the glass panes and knocked the bar off the holder. IMO if i was to have another sliding door i would put a bar on the bottom of the door and one of those radioshack alarms that are really loud
Yep, it is easy. As 5.0tang said put the bar at the bottom of the door. I have a brinks alarm system and when the guy was installing it he said that theifs love glass doors becasue they are so easy to shake loose. So take precautions. Bar and sometime of Alarm. With brinks i sleep well at night and while im gone on vacation.

Oh yeah, french doors are simple. Each door has a simple latch that goes upward into the frame of the door. They are no where near a dead bolt. If you break the panes and slide thoseout of their holes, the deadbolt can be locked and when you pull both doors, the deadbolt stays locked, but slides right apart. I would also imagine that those tine 1/8 inch panes of glass are much quieter when they are broken as compared to a giant sliding glass door.
Josh I know which sliding door it is.... if he didn't jimmy it there is a small black circle on the backside of the handle outside you can knock that off with a screwdriver and then turn the inside of that hole and it unlocks..... Had to do it a ton of times for customers that lock themselves out....
Besides the bar that blocks the sliding portion from moving, they also make add on locks that push pins into the door frame to keep them from moving as well. Look at Home Depot and/or Lowes and they should have a section of parts for sliding doors.

We used a board cut to just barely fit in the bottom track so the door can not be opened even a crack.
The dog did a great job! They hear things long before we do.
O, yea! now the right ear!
