I've got 2 small holes (a little smaller than a dime) in the bottom of a rubbermaid storage container that I'd like to use to hold water. It'd be holding about 10g. How could I seal these up without having to worry about leaks?

finger... LOL J/K Why dont you just go buy new ones there only like couple of bucks at walmart..
Where is all my money going too!!!!!
55g 500w MH total 70lbs live fuji rock 30lbs sand
10g nano tank for a mantis shrimp..
150g that is starting up
2000g pond with 8 koi and 1 fat goldfish(and I do mean FAT) lol
I've been using Loctite Extreme Repair (100% silicone, aquarium safe) for projects like that. Good stuff, IMO.
well i guess as long as it's 100% silicone, the brand really doesn't matter. but...
i would not use it Cody, they may be smaller than a dime, but they are still risky. take it from someone who's had several major water disasters. they are tons and tons and tons of not fun.
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." ~ Jack Handey
Best bet is to buy a new container without any holes.
Silicone is great and all, but for plugging holes in the bottom pane of a container, you are risking it big time.
again like i said in another thread and like everyone else says
new plastic container = $10
or
wet dry vac = $35
+
us telling you we told you so 8) = priceless
also wouldnt the cost of the silicone etc for the repair cost about the same as a new one??

I picked up a grey Sterilite 18 gallon for just under $4. at walmart yesterday... the totes are cheap.. so why risk a leak?
Some people are like slinkies.. they serve no useful purpose what so ever.. but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...
I think his car payment may be hampering the ability to buy it! LOL. Sweet car Cody!
well... if that's the case... use the silicone if you already have it and just keep the tote in the bath tub! Lol..Originally Posted by erikharrison
