It's been about 18 years since I saw one in the field. My professer in college & I used to drive the roads in Florida at night catching snakes. Snakes DEFINATELY don't bother me. I was lucky, my mother was a high school science teacher. I brought a snake home from summer camp when I was 11, and it got out. My mom woke up the next morning with it staring her in the face. Without a second's hesitation, she said: "George, what are you doing out?", scooped it up off of her pillow, and put it back in it's tank!

The thing about coral snakes is their fangs are way back in their mouths that is why they have to bite you in the soft part of the body like between your fingers or under your arm.
Mental note to self, try to remember to NOT put a coral snake under my arm... :blink

Shouldn't there be a shorter word for "monosyllabic"?

We used to find several of them when we were clearing property up around Sequine many years ago for my uncle. They'd always be inside or around old dead logs that made them a nice home and probably great place to wate for food. The ones that bothered me up there were them stinking copperheads. You could dang near step on one without even realizing it was there. Not too many rattlesnakes in that area though, but at least they let you know they're around.

Speaking of my neighbor found a small (baby) rattle snake in her garage about two weeks ago. My wife is still freaked out about it saying that our pond has to go now. Needles to say, she doesn't like snakes.

baby snakes venomous that is are the worst most think the venom is more potent however, the snake is not experienced enough to dose venom correctly so it gives you every drop it has
