Whats the wattage on the t-5's
29G Mixed tank, 380w of light (250w 14k Ushio, 2x65w PC Actinic), Octopus NW110, 75x turnover.
Finally after years I have a tank worth showing!
The T5s are only 8 watts each = 24 watts. BUT, they are WAY brighter than the 36w CF that they replaced. Her's was a 2006 model with the 36W CF, and they replaced the hood. The other BIG difference is that the T5s don't heat up the water like the CFs did.
That being said, I probably wouldn't try to grow SPS under them. Remember though, these 12g nanos are really about 8 gallons.

I hear the nano wave 9 by aquamedic is really cool. It has over 5 watts per gallon. A built in skimmer and refugium with light and its around 150 bucks. Cant beat it. Look on nanotuners.com for it.
Nice little tank. But With no fans its seems like there might be some heating issues due to the light. I read some reviews and some have issues with heat

if all you have to do is add some cooling fans it should be easy. Its a 12 volt system anyway i think
T-5 is nice ...smaller tanks heat up pretty quickly especially with heat from pumps and add ons cooler is better
Going to change my screenname to ReefCube soon!
