here is something I picked up today. (mostly about goldfish)
The lionheaded oranda was bred to mimick the mythical chinese lion dog, which incidentally, was also the inspiration for the pekingese as well.
Gold Fish Breeds can be traced back along specific lineages for over 1000 years.
During WW2, the Japanese Ranchu was alsmost completely lost, but is now being restored w/ clever breeding.
In texas it is illegal to have sex with a fish, in florida it is illegal to get a fish drunk, and N.Carolina thought both laws were good, so in NC it is illegal to have sex with a drunk fish.
All the sturgeon (the fish from which we get caviar) caught in British waters are property of the Queen
