Lighting help Please

Hello Everyone, I am new to this site and the salt water hobbie - I was helping some of you can help me. I just got a 140g salt water tank (drilled) i have 2 rena xp3 on it along with a euro reef proteine skimmer and a trickle filter -( i think i am set on filtration but please let me know if i am wrong) my question is on lighting my tank is 6foot by 30 inches and i have the 72 inch luna aqua light is this enough light for my tank to be a reef tank( my goal) with corals and polyps or do i need to add some T5s as well

My 140 is 72 x 18 x 24 high. If it's 30 high it's probably only around 12 inches wide which would be an odd size aquarium.

ok you are right it is 72 long 18 deep and 24 tall, is my light system ok - or do i need to add

Your lighting is minimal at best for sps corals. A good rule of thumb would be 5 watts per gallon (which you are close too). This is just a general rule, other factors such as tank depth and placement of corals will also dictate lighting requirements. Deeper tank=higher wattage light, so that there is a high par rating (lower par means insufficient spectrum reaching bottom of tank). At a 24" tall, you might be ok with what you have.

OK i would really like to have a nice lighting system can you give me some lighting system advice because i heard t5 were the best. what should i add to my existing lighting ? thanks
