Depends on the projects you are going to do. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and both are really used for different things. If you are going to be cutting large pieces of plywood or other such materials, then the table saw is best. If you are cutting things like trim boards or other narrow pieces of material, then the miter saw is best.

Depending on how good a table saw you get, you can do a lot more precise cuts with a table saw. I say that only because there are really nice miter kits you can buy to add onto your table saw. We did that at my dad's wood shop. The miter saw never gets touched now a days :lol I'll get the product info when I'm over there tonight Jeff.
