Turn off skimmer during feeding?

I have a 29 gallon mixed tank with mainly softies and a LPS or 2. My question is should I turn off my skimmer when I feed plankton? I notice a great amount of skim mate after I feed, is this just my skimmer sucking everything I just added to tank back out?

You might try putting the skimmer on a timer. So during feeding time you can leave it off and then it will turn on later once your done. Not sure how long you would want to go without it, perhaps a half hour to an hour.

I usually turn off the skimmer for 1-2 hours after feeding phyto/zooplankton to make sure it isn't immediately skimmed out and is actually being utilized by the inhabitants

That sounds good I think I will start turning it off for about hour or so after I feed

i turned my skimmer off about 8 months ago and it hasnt been on since. have some crazy coral growth and tank runs with no problems.

I turn off the skimmer while feeding photo. If not the skimmate looks and smells exactly like DTs.

what about circulation and wave makers should those be turned off as well?

I wouldn't turn those off since they're not filtering out anything from the water. Plus, the food as to reach the corals somehow!
