If you rebooted serveral times and it worked fine, I wouldn't worry about it then Jim. You should be ok. If it happens again, I'm sure someone would be glad to swing by and look at it.

So far, the only problem Ive noticed is the screen saver not responding, I have it set up in marquee mode with a banner thats supposed to scroll randomly accross the screen, it shows up but doesnt scroll like it used to even with the speed set to fast, it works in preview but not in real time. Any ideas?

screensavers are just a novelty anymore. monitors would take hours upon hours to burn the screen with the newer technology. i keep my computer running 24x7 and just power the monitor down when not in use (and i disable the screensaver and standby functions in my computer)

RAM. its being shared with your video and probably doesn't have enough to run. hit ctrl+alt+DEL and pull up your taskmanager. See how much proc and ram youre using while the ss runs. Also, if you havent upgraded your video drivers yet, DO IT. Bump to tony, i do the same thing with my ss. It uses system resources when you could be dl'ing!!!

well, i can say that too, i was referring to the majority. If it's a clamshell, I gurantee, unless he upgraded, shared memory. MOST, not ALL Dells run shared video.
