    Default My 55 gallon tub

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this site, I've been lurking around for a very long time, but haven't taken the time to do much posting. This is mainly because I've been piecing together a new tank. I've been into aquatic life for a long time, and I've had many different fresh water tanks ranging from cichlid to planted. I started saltwater about a year and a half ago with a 29 gallon, and decided to upgrade.

I spent quite a bit of time planning and building a custom stand to match the rest of my furniture.

I left it open for now, but do have design plans for doors in the front to conceal the sump. The shelf is removable for easy access to the sump if I need to do any maintenance or upgrades.

The sump is just a 20 gallon AGA. I used pressure lock baffles to keep the water level up in the skimmer section and the fuge section.
A Mag 12 moves the water up to the main tank through a SCWD.

Jason from Aquarium Designs had the tank built for me, as well as the overflow and supplied the pump and a lot of the plumbing supplies, so a lot of thanks goes to him.
Sean (Cprreefguy) supplied 50 lbs of the live rock, and about 30 lbs came from my 29 gallon, so roughly a total of 80 lbs of live rock and about 40 lbs total of live sand, including the sump.
Alex and Ed from Wolf Reef have supplied most of my livestock over the last year or so.

FTS to give you an idea of what the tank looks like:

    Inhabitants:
    Cleaner Shrimp

    Staghorn Crab:

    Firefish:

    Scooter Blenny:

    Percula Clownfish and bubbletip anemone:

High fin banded goby and pistol shrimp pair:

    Flower Pot:

    Zoo's:

    Ricordia:

    Xenia:

    GSP:

    Macro:

And of course many hermits and snails, a few spaghetti worms, and tons of little critters in the rocks.

Hope you guys like the pics.

Ha, I had forgotten about that too. I'm still just using my orbit from the 29 gallon, haven't gotten around to putting the new lighting on.

Thanks for the compliments guys, it's taken up all of the little free time I've had lately.

Me too! I saw them at the lfs and had to get one, they are very interesting and different! I've had to rescue him a few times though, he tends to get stuck every once in a while.

I forgot about my sun coral. I was just feeding it, two polyps were fighting over a piece of mysis.
