I smell a scam in here. I'd like to know how this turns out. Seems like one of those deals where you get tested and then they offer to sell you products to improve your skills. I guess the internet has jaded me a bit.

murkywaters, i once fell for something like what youre referring too. this was for kirby vacume though. it stated i would be doing pre-arranged demonstrations of their product to people who asked to be shown the product.
the thing is, they blatantly lied. they would canvas a rich neighorhood (most people cant afford a 1,200$ vacume), stick business cards on it stating that they had a chance to enter a contest and win a free carpet cleaning.
everyone won a 'free' carpet cleaning which was just a clevar ruse to get them in the door to pitch their vacumes.
the good thing about that whole speel? i sold 3 vacumes my first day, got my check that night, and quit. they gave us a vacume to take home during the 3 week training course that i used every day. those things really are awesome. we'd vacume the carpet with a bagless vacume, then my friends hover. we'd bring in the kirby then and even though the carpet appeared clean, the kirby managed to fill its bag quickly.
i own a kirby now, but i bought it used and for way less than 1200$.
