    Default Pistol shrimp

I picked up a rock from Polly's last weekend. It was advertised as an assorted mushroom rock. Actually it had 3 different kinds of shrooms, 2 small zoo colonies, a cool sea squirt, and a pistol shrimp along for the ride.

I've seen threads back and forth on the pistol shrimp. I know it's not a mantis, so is there anything I need to worry about with the pistol?

i have one that is about 2 inches long that we see at night. during the day, if the opening to his burrow is in clear view (if because he moves it sometimes), then we can shine a flashlight into it and see him also. so far, it isnt causing any problems that we know of

They do dig...so watch your LR structure...once they get their burrow...they settle a bit. I had one in my 30 along with a Yellow Watchman Goby...he built Highways over & over & over again!! Goby sat out in front of the Shrimp on "watch" while he plowed. Fun to watch.

Overall...how much did you pay for a nice rock like that with hitchhikers as a bonus, of course?
