The ARM media in my calcium reactor went to mush. Is it caused by to much C02? Also, can it still be used. Or should I pitch it?

Don't put the price on the bag please.
That means its just been used up to its capacity. They all turn to mush after time. Part of the chemical reaction. Time to replace it![]()
I think it also means you were running your CO2 a little too high.

Killed my first coral in 1991, have tried to do better since. Always tricky.
When all the calcareous minerals are dissolved, you are left with the other insoluble "stuff" from the coral that originally composed the ARM. I believe that when it gets to this stage, the CO2 will also have a tendency to "channel" through the media and this greatly reduces the efficiency of dissolution of any remaining media. The CO2 is just coming into contact with the same spent media over and over.

Big whorls have little whorls, Which feed on their velocity;
And little whorls have lesser whorls, And so on to viscosity
