what are your sugestions for caring for and feeding a Blue tang, it seems there is a lot of different recomendations. One thing they all say is that they are harder to take care of. Any help would be a great help.

I have a real small one, I've been feeding him plankton and mysis, brine, seaweed stuf from lfs, along with formula one, and two flakes from the lfs. As far as all the frozen foods, how do you do it? Do you just through the cubs in the tank or what? Will they keep in the refregerator soking in garlic.
Some thing else he likes to lay at the bottom of the tank from time to time is that a bad thing? If so what do I do about?
Thanks
If you're talking about the regal tang or hippo tang, (probably) the really little ones are very hard to keep alive IME. I think they're much less stessed in a group, I've almost never seen one by itself less than a couple inches long that was healthy. I saw a couple the other day at a store and was tempted, as these were the smallest I've ever seen and I'm looking for only tiny fish for my tank. Sure enough, they were both scratching away and the colors looked kind of dull, both bad signs.
Keeping the fish stress free as much as possible, alng with all the good fedding advice you've gotten, is the only thing I could add.
They get ick ALOT!!!!! Make sure you have a good size tank. I have a 55 and he was stressing out all the time.
Where is all my money going too!!!!!
55g 500w MH total 70lbs live fuji rock 30lbs sand
10g nano tank for a mantis shrimp..
150g that is starting up
2000g pond with 8 koi and 1 fat goldfish(and I do mean FAT) lol
Regals do tend to sit on the bottom of the tank esp in smaller tanks <100 gallons. If he eats and you can keep him ick free you should be OK...
I had one in my 180 and it stressed and got ick so bad it had all my fish getting ick, since it died I havn't had ick on any of my fish, including my other tangsOriginally Posted by urban79
