Hey guys, I keep hearing more and more stuff about garlic. good things about it.

    my questions are.

Does garlic have any side affect?

Also can I just put pieces of garlic between a limon squeezer and collect the juice?

any effect on corals ( zoos mushrooms )

Will i excpect any changes in my water parameters?

I think the garlic is used to boost health in your fish. I am not the fish expert so hopefully someone will chime in here.

The only side effect of garlic I know of is you'll have a problem getting a date after useing it. :lol

And if not you, your fish will surely have a prob getting a date.

I feed Garlic soaked foods to all but one of my tanks. The reason I don't feed the one tank is because the Regal I have in there will refuse to eat foods soaked in Garlic. I believe it helps with there immune system, but it's not a miricle cure all. If there is stress in the tank or the fish is too far gone it's not going to bring your fish back to life. I have not noticed any ill effects on my corals.

I have read conflicting reports on the benefits of garlic, but one is for sure: Your fish will love it and eat (for the most part). The fact that they are eating well will help them fight off parasites and sickness, even if the garlic itself does not have a medicinal effect (which it might). I use Kent Extreme Garlic with one feeding each day. It has not seemed to have any effect on water quality parameters or my corals. I do not know of any side effects. If you search there are some really good threads on this topic. I remember one where Richard provided a lot of really good info regarding the use of garlic.
