    Default dying anemone

why do i feel like i spend all my time in this section... i bought 2 true clowns and a bubble tip about 2 1/2 weeks ago little clown died from what was either velvet or clown fish disease the other got it too but was able to save him. they both loved the anemone but after the clowns got sick the anemome started acting strange... hiding under a rock pulling in really tight for a few days then would come back out but never looked happy. i tested water and took it to the LFS to be sure everything is in line and has been for weeks. last week as the anemone was declining algae started appearing. today i noticed he was no longer attached to a rock and you could see right through him looked like a donut. called a different LFS they said either it is deviding or dying. if it is dying it could kill everything... what do i do

I would get it out ASAP. Wild caught bubble tips have a very poor survival rate. I gave up on them and am waiting for a captive clone to become available. I have an ultra RBTA in mind over at Instar's house. I had a large LTA die on me and it took almost a week, several large water changes, and a lot of carbon to get my tank straightened out. Once they die, they decay quickly and cast off stinging cells all over the tank.

Wow, Gary, didn't know you wanted one... Just traded a NICE ALL ROSE BTA for a green one. I'll keep you in mind for when mine split again. I still have 4 in the 215.

strange that the LFS i went to said they were really easy to keep and said to get that over a carpet. so i spent almost $100 and am down to 1 clown and maybe a bunch of now dead frags. :angry :cry does it sound like i got bad advice.
