I was just wondering what I have growing on my live rock.... That question seems abondant around here.
I really can't post a picture of it as they are too small to really see on the camara. They look almost like feather dusters, but the tubs are like bristles. They are hard like a bristle of a broom. Is it just another type of feather duster?? I have had the live rock for about 3 years now, but of course have added some new corals since then. But the only places I see it growing are on my older live rock. It is growing in several places.
Oh well, just wondering if any of you know what it might be.

Yea, I have the same thing on my LR. I think its a Bryzoan.

Bryzoans are somewhere between a sponge and gorgonian on the evolutionary tree. Some of the larger ones are sometimes mistaken for corals. Try googling it and see if that is what you are seeing.

Bryozoans look more like coral than these. These look like Feather Dusters. They have individual staulks and are brown.

Possibly Hydroids, difficult to ID without a good pic.

If they are in clusters, they are a type of hydroid. Some have white tentacles and some have brown and they each make their own little tubes to live in.
