    Default hanging DE mini pendent

I'm thinking of using those bolts that have the spring loaded "wings" (I don;t know what they're called) to hang eyelets in a sheetrock ceiling for my DE pendent...it's at least 30" from the top of the pendent to the ceiling, so I don't think heat's an issue. The pendent only weights a few pounds. Think this is safe, or do I need to find studs, screw in a wood mounting board, then screw the eyelets into that?

It's doubtful that there are studs exactly where I want to hang this thing. Any other suggestions?

I did that for some huge hamilton pendants a few years ago. I used to eyelets per pendant. if one were to fail at least the light would still be hanging and not in the tank. there was never much of a risk for failure that I could see though.

You are thinking of toggle bolts, That should work, just make sure that no one ever tries to use it to hang anything to heavy.
