Cool! Looks like my ricordea right about now.
You can get an anemone to split pretty easily by spiking your alkalinity also, I dont recommend it though.

Are you sure there are only two? My LTAs used to split 3:1. You might check to see if there is another one hiding somewhere.

yea theres only two soon to be one.next time i do a waterchange im pullin one out.my clownfish seem to favor one over the other anyway.

that's funny my pink tipped green bubble tip anemone just split too! after about a year and a half, she was 10-12 inches fully open. my clowns seem to favor one too, interesting coincideince?

When I bought my 125, it had 3 similar LTAs in it and 5-6 oscillaris. The previous owner said he wanted to make sure the anemones were happy so he kept buying clowns for the LTAs after they split. I think those original 3 LTAs turned into something like 12. I kept selling them off and they kept splitting every time I moved the tank. I was moving a lot at that time and the tank went 3 moves in 14 months. Every time I moved the tank they split, and sometimes in between moves. I was down to one very large one when one day it disappeared. It crawled back into a hole and just melted. I thought it was splitting until I saw pieces floating out of the hole. That turned into a major clean up and water change project.
