    Default Skimmer Question

Lately ( in the last week and a half) the skimmer is pulling better than a gallon a day in liquid. It is not any gunk it is just water. Do I have it too wet or is it heading for the happy hunting ground (dying) The liquid appears to be just water with a tiny hint of very light green to it. All of the tests are at zero. Any ideas?

    Thanks
    David

Yea, just cut the air back to the skimmer. If it doesn't have one, you can just put a cheap little plastic air valve on the end of the air tubing to cut back the air. Its probably not hurting anything by skimming wet, but if you are replacing the water with RO your salinity could be dropping.

If it wasn't doing this before and just started without you changing anything on the skimmer, something probably changed in your water. Did you add any medications or additives, or use any of that epoxy to glue stuff to rocks?

What kind of skimmer are you talking about?

changes in the barametric pressure will do it too. with the front we've had it will cause the skimmer to act diffrently.
