    Default question about feather dusters..

i bought 2 big feather dusters...

i know these things are worms...but, i just laid them on the sandbed...will they eventually dig themselves in, or will i need to dig a little sand out and place them in the hole? i want to stand them up, but i dont want to break or damage the outer shell...

i would move some sand, put them where you want them and then put the sand back around them.

tucker, how old is your tank?

are they feather dusters or coco worms? you may need to do some supplimental feeding if the tank is to small or if is to new to support them.

If the worms stay in their current casings, just cover w/ sand or put in your rock structure.

Sometimes they will leave the casing and make a new one some where else.

they also shed thier crowns when stressed, so if this happens, just try to keep your water nice and hopefully it will grow back.

    hobo,

    gotcha, will do...

ram, the tank is about a month old. i purchased the feather dusters so they def. didnt grow in my tank. i have tons growing in the rock already, but i got a pretty good deal on these. i bought 2, but im thinking i might plant one and put another in a rock. the exposed part is about 3 inches but theres another 2-3 inches thats covered in sand...(on the head/tail...)

    ok.

just remember that these are substantially larger than the ones that are growing on your rocks allready. you may need to suppliment their feed. I don't know if something like Tahitian blend or DT's would be appropriate for that or not. maybe someone else knows.
