Thread: Canister filter question

    Default Canister filter question

I know this may be a bit OT but I have a question about a fluval 304 that was given to me by a friend.

I planned on using the filter as some extra filtration for my FW plant tank. I've had the filter for a while- it needed some extra parts so I spent a while finding new parts at various stores here in SA.

After about $50 in new parts (all the crap that you normally have to replace with a fluval) the darn thing is leaking!

I've put a decent amount of time and money into this stupid thing so my question is:

Is it worth trying to re-seal it somehow, or should I just give up and get a new canister filter? I've seen good deals on drfostersmith but not sure about which.

Are you sure its not just an O-ring that is missing or leaking? That is easy and cheap to replace.
