    Default Water Change Ideas

I'm looking for a different (easy) way to do water changes and thought I would ask how you do it.

Currently I pump around 15% out of the tank. Then I mix my new water in a 30gal container and when ready I pump it back into the tank. The problem is that I have to shut down the system (pumps) to do this. I want a way to do changes that doesnt require me to shut down.

I took over the the utility closet behind my tank. I have my auto-top off, skimmer, and 20 gal water change tank in there. The water change tank is fed by a maxi-jet and drains back into my sump. Also, I have a maxi-jet in the water change tank that pumps the water out into the drain. All I have to do for a water change is turn off the in and turn on the out. I have pre-mixed water in the garage that I pump into the water change tank. It takes a matter of minutes and I don't have to shut everything down.
