    Default computers

i have a few questions on computers. my first one is about leaving it on. im on the computer through out the day. ill get on to check maast or e-mails or "other" stuff and i was just wondering if its best to just leave it on until the last time i use it or turn it on and off after every use. i was told from a friend that turning it on and off through out the day is bad for the pc cause it gives the mother board a little shock and if it shocks the pc more then 3 or 4 times a day can stress the pc out. also, how bad is dust? i have an extermely dusty apartment and im always wiping off the top so i can only assume that the inside of the moniter, tower, and keyboard must be real dusty. any suggestions, comments or answers?

I leave mine on pretty much 24x7 with the occasional I'm using MS products and must reboot, just because.

We've been doing it with machines since some of the first came out at work with no problems.

Leave it on. Turning it on and off several time each day is way more damaging to your PC. Make sure you take the cover off and blow out the dust every couple of months. Dust is not your friend. Dust will cause your PC to overheat and can even catch on fire.

there are filters pads that you can put on the fans to cut down on the dust inside of the case.

Leaving your computer on?? Well, here at work we are encouraged to turn them off, as to prevent someone from hacking your machine. As an electronics tech, leaving on does not hurt it.

Leave it on......and open it and dust it out often.
