I just ran across this on RC and remember quite a few center brace questions so heres a fix.

It is kinda hard to see what the nylon screws are threading into. Did they go straight into the black plastic trim? Or did the person attach a flange to the black plastic trim and then attach the screws to the flange? It looks like a simple fix either way.

I dont understand Pete. The guy actually wanted a centerbrace? Most people try to get rid of them. That material he used seems like it may help with the shimmer effect.

Well if it was my tank, especially a long one, I would definatly want a center brace. I would be cautious in taking one out, for structural reasons....

This is what you do AFTER your orginal plastic center brace breaks! These orginal plastic type do not hold up well under MH's. So, if your center brace breaks, you put on a woodworking clamp to hold the tank together to keep it from bowing out. Then you make the new brace, attach with screws and nuts and you are done!

Or, you do this if you hate the shadow that the orginal brace creates.
