    Default Orange Linka Star

I just got a new orange linka star, I was curious on how to keep him alive. I heard they have a 90 perecent death rate. I didn't know that until now. He seems to be fine. I can't put a pic up due to the size of the pic. thanks for the help. Should I take him out then?

I don't see your pic. Acclimation seems to be key with these guys. I would acclimate at least 8 hours depending on how different the water is. Good luck.

If he's in the tank then just leave him alone. If he's a good one he'll be fine as long as you have good water quality. If it melts then take him out.

Thanks, It seems fine right now, just got worried when I heard the death rate. I only acclimated him for 2 hours, didn't realize people reccomend 8-24. I will hope for the best.

They dont project dismal mortality rates for no reason, these creatures are very difficult to keep long term and best left to the experts or in the ocean. I know of only a few that have survived past the one year mark, most melt away within three months or less. I suggest doing some research at wetwebmedia or similar informational sites and find out what exactly is involved in insuring this animals survival.

I agree with JimD. I always do a some reasearch before i get a new pet. What i do know about Linka Stars is that you can no let them touch air. They are like sponges, if they hit the air then air gets traped in there pours.
