    Default Water Comp.

My water tests are all ok, but my nitrate is at about 20ppm. Is that ok? What do i do to bring it down as much as possible? Does a skimmer help with that?

A skimmer helps .. do you have a fuge? The fuge will bring them to near zero.

refugium...it's a seperate filtration system that contains live rock, live sand, and some sort of macro algae(chaeto, caluerpa, maiden's hair, halmeda, mangroves etc). It not only offers natural filtration but it also serves as a home for misc pods and cleaners that not only serve as food but great crud cleaners. They really do make a difference when added to a system. Hope I helped. Ram
