Red Leg Battle

I saw something cool last night. I walked up to my tank and saw a red leg hermit moving 3X faster than I had ever seen one move before. As I sat transfixed upon the speedster another red leg came out of the blue moving 4X my associated hermit crab speed limit!

3X ran into a corner... so 4X, well, he cornered him. 4X fancied the large nassarius shell that 3X was sporting. He grabbed 3X and yanked him right out of the shell! 3X was feeling submissive so he waited patiently minus shell for 4X to commandeer his home. He then hopped into 4X's old shell and went about his business.

Is this normal hermit behavior? The funny thing is the empty astria shell that both ignored inches away.

Maybe the nassarius shells are sportier?

I guess that proves the rumor, nassarius shells have a 6 speed tranny and astria's are automatics :lol
