Thread: CBB Update

    Default CBB Update

Got a Copper Banded Butterfly today and would like some recommendations from the CBB experts. What would be my best route to introducing him to the tank? I have a Yellow and Alt. Blue tang who were introduced together and were my first tangs. Several months later I introduced a Scribbled Rabbit fish with no problems what so ever. Will there be issues with the CBB? I am also planning on re-designing my rock work to allow for more SPS in the next day for so, will that do the trick? What would the wise one's recommend? He is currently chillin' in the fuge.

E-mail Richard from CB Pets or Larry "Instar" on here.

    Both pros with this fish.

Killed my first coral in 1991, have tried to do better since. Always tricky.

I have my CB with both of these fish(Yellow and Atlantic tang). I kept the CB in the fuge for a little over a month. Made sure that he was eating good, and didn't have any type of diseases. After I felt that he was doing fine, I put him in at night, so the other fish would be hiding. This usualy helps let the new fish calm down from the transfer between tanks. What size tank do you have?

I would watch out... Like Larry told me there could be false CB's that look exactly like them and they eat corals. Took a while for my CB to eat, but he ate my ******* brain corals and now touching on my new clam. Not even sure if he's eating aptasias, but don't see little one's. Just a heads up :(

Well, I HAD a problem with feather dusters taking over my tank, but I am happy to report that my new CBB has taken all of those little buggers out in the fuge. There is a good sized aptaisa in there that I am praying he takes care of. If he does then I will really be singing his praises!!! I am waiting for a day when I have few good hours to redo my rock work and add him in during the late night hours.

Just wanted to keep you guys posted on the progress of my CBB. He is doing awsome. Got moved up to the big tank. He was hanging out in a corner under a cave for a couple of days, but I am proud to report that he entertained my girlfriend and I today by eating numberous featherdusters. I was GREAT!!!!

Here are some pics of his frist day in the tank. PLEASE, PLEASE no comments about the algea bloom on my sand!!!!! I was feeding my tangs cichlid flakes for about a week because I didn't have any nori and apperantly they are not good for water conditions.... :lol :lol :lol .

Beautiful copperband. I've had mine since December 2000. Great fish and loves fanworms. But it's a cool trade off ....
