    Default NO Aquarium

A few of you have mentioned the New Orleans Aquarium in your posts. I was a member when we lived there and am still on their mailing list. I received the following email today. The aquarium is owned by the Audobon zoo in New Orleans and the email covers both. The email is below:

    Friends of Audubon Nature Institute,

Most of Audubon Nature Institute’s animals survived Hurricane Katrina. Our friends in the Zoo and Aquarium community are generously opening their hearts to temporarily house some of our creatures, but the rest remain at the Zoo, Aquarium and Research Center. An incredibly dedicated team of keepers is caring for these animals under the most challenging of circumstances. Please support the Species Survival Emergency Fund today to help us feed, house and provide veterinary care for New Orleans’ rare and endangered wildlife.

    Default RE: NO Aquarium

Interesting, I watched a news story just today where they spoke with the Aquarium spokesperson who said they lost more than half of their livestock due to their generator being flooded out. I'm sure they will recover to become an even better place to visit.
