aqua c remora review

so i am using an remora w/maxi jet1200.im curious to know anyone elses expieriences.i dont really like mine.maybe im not using it right.i took the pre skimmer off(worthless).i just dont seem to be getting very much skimmate.its about a quater cup every week.anyway just curious.

I've never been a real fan of aquaC skimmers. I think the remora is okay for a small tank, maybe 30 gallons or so, but not much more. Lots of people, mostly aquaC owners, will probably disagree. You can lower the collection cup; probably you just have to move the big rubber o-ring up further, and you might get a little more skimmate. That's about the only adjustment.

i have the remora pro version and it rocks w/ a mag5. i used to have the small remora and i too didn't like it a bit, was to hard to adjust and mess with in my opinion!!!!

yea I have the collection cup all the way down.veryery little skimmate though,Im prolly gonna upgrade my pump to feed the remora,maybe a mag3 or sumthin?

try cleaning or getting a new maxi 1200 pump. the pre-skimmer box does help to pull water off of the surface. or maybe you just dont have a large bio-load.

How long has your Remora been on the tank? Have you clean out the injector port (remove that white plastic screw)?

the remoras practically new 2 months.thanks for the suggestions though.
