I have a ricordea that is attached to a small pebble, so I could just rubberband it to a small rock and then wait a week or two and hope it attached?
I'm not sure of the actual size of the "pebble" the ric is attached to, but if it is large enough to get a bead of superglue gel onto, put a blob on the pebble, and attach to a larger rock. If the "pebble" is too small to do this, you will need to get the ric to attach to a larger rock on it's own....I generally keep some "frag rubble" rock in the 'fuge, drop the ric ontop of the rock and let it attach on it's own. If you don't have a 'fuge, you can accomplish this by wedging a piece of acrylic or egg crate in the corner of your tank, dropping some rubble in the enclosure, and placing the ric on top. ^_^

BTW - I don't think a rubber band will work very well for ricordia - if it's tight enough to hold the ric down, it will probably kill it...too loose, and your ric will end up floating around the tank somewhere. I've never tried the bridal mesh method, but it's worth a try - I wouldn't strap it down too tightly though. For other softies (like leathers and xenia), the toothpick method that aquadoc suggested works well.

i've done the bridal veil and the fishing line. Both work fairly well on Xenia. I superglue gel everything else.

Long as it is a gel type glue it'll be ok for the reef tank.

I'll take stuff like Xenia and just drop it in a slow current area like my fuge and just let it attach to the rubble there by itself. After a week or so I can take it out and trade it.
