Thread: Need some quick cash for school (small jobs?)

Default Need some quick cash for school (small jobs?)

I'm not usually one for begging, but my financial aid info somehow was incorrect and it's put me rrrreally short on cash this semester. I've been told re-processing is going to take 4-6 weeks, meaning the full semester + books is an unexpected hit on my personal budget and I won't receive reimbursement until that's fixed. :sick

So if anyone needs some small work done immediately that a young college lad like myself might be skilled enough to accomplish please let me know.

Most of the work i've done is in the computer field, but i'm not limiting my options to that.

Additionally, if anyone knows any companies hiring and wouldn't mind sharing some of that information it would be appreciated. ^_^ There's a bit of a large gap in my resume (from going back to school all this time) and i'm finding it hard for employers to take me seriously. >_<

What type of computer work have you done?
I know of a company that is in dire need of some Oracle PL/SQL developers to work on the DOD Civilian Personnel System. They work out of the Tetco building on the NE side of San Antonio. Last time I heard they were looking to fill three positions right away. This is full time work and I'm not sure that is what you are looking for though.

If this fits or anyone else has these qualifications let me know and I can get you in touch with the right folks.

Yeah a full time job isn't something i'm going to be able to handle right now, especially as my spring semester will be jam-packed with a 15 hour course load. Part time or very short term full time would work.

I don't have experience w/ Oracle, but thanks for the heads up. ^_^

Have you contacted a temp agency? That's a great way to earn quick and easy bucks, plus you get an inside look at various companies.

There we go, good job Joshua. Its good to see a maastard helping another one like that. I know hot it feels Chris, I just graudated last year. Then I was also broker for the past year, the job market is tight. I finally got a great job and today was my first day. Hang in there, things will get better.
