Yup, looks like you just run a line from that ball valve to your aquarium or whatever to fill it up. If you wanted to run this to your refridgerator for water/ice you would tee off of the yellow line going into the tank and run to the fridge from there.

I read multiple reviews about this one before I bought it from other reefers and everyone raved about it. I found them for right at $400 and then found everything on ebay for $108. I bought it! LOL

So when the water leaves the pressure tank, where does it go and where does it come out?

So when the water leaves the pressure tank, where does it go and where does it come out?
Depends on the system. The tank (4 gallons system) on mine actually builds up and then as needed the system fills my sump until the Kent float valve (see link below) automatically cuts it off, or until the refridgerator needs water, or you use the faucet you have to put into the sink. Once those are closed off the tank again fills back up until full then the auto cutoff switch on the RO/DI unit shuts itself down.

    Getting there! LOL

So what do the units do that do not have storage tanks? They just filter it the request for water is made?

Without tanks have two styles. Those with auto shutoff valves (look like below link), they shutoff when there is a a blockage of permeate water (good stuff) so you don't continue running waste water down the drain, that is what the float valve on mine does. Then there are those without an auto shutoff valve that will just continue to waste water through the waiste water drain.

So you wouldn't use the ones without the holding tanks for drinking?????

This one came with the auto shutoff, tank, three lines, ball valve, faucet, filters, tubing, flush valve, etc......I think I got a pretty good deal.

I'll hit you up with more questions when it gets here and I'm hooking it up! LOL

    Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like a good deal to me. You really couldn't set up one for drinking water without the tank, most outputs of RO units are a dribble of water at a time so filling the tank makes a quick access to the water. That's how the whole air bladder thing works, as the bladder in the tank fills with water the pressure between the tank and the bladder is what forces the water back out and to the faucet.
