Is it OK to use a nylon scrubber to cover the bottom of my power head that I have in my aquarium so my fish do not get stuck in it. I do not connect it to anything else.
thank you

I would suggest a regular sponge pre-filter for that purpose. Go to www.premiumaquatics.com and enter "MJ-PREF" in the search box, check them out...
And HEY! Welcome to MAAST!
Most poweheads come with a plastic cup shaped cover for that purpose. If you don't have the one that came with yours, ask around, someone usually has a spare.

Thank you Jim I hope to learn had salt water a long time ago starting again.
Then you've come to the right place.... What brought you here if I might inquire?
I did some shoppint on another site and they pointed me in this direction fortunately
Great to hear ... welcome to Maast and what area are you in?

I live in a little town called Burnet a little north west of Austin in the hill country.
I had one of those sponge pre filters on my powerhead, but it also attracted debris, which got stuck in the fibers...aybe it produces a current stronger than my filter? Anyways, I was concerned that it might cause ammonia spikes so I removed it...What is the maintenance on these? does one clean them every how often?
