Cryptic Refugium?
Anyone ever tried running one?
one of the pluses (out of the many minuses) in taking forever to build a system, is you get to continually re-evaluate your strategy.
Cryptic Refugia are devoid of algaes, and light. You pump water into them, let them drain into the tank (this one would be gravity fed anyhow)
I am thinking of doing it small, only 10 or perhaps a 15 gallon tall. no lights, just live rock rubble. this would be a place for not only pods to thrive, but sponges and other critters that love the dark.
since I had to compromise with physics and put my huge refugium on the floor (safety first!) I figured a 10 gallon cryptic refugium designed to generate pods is the way to go.
any thoughts?
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." ~ Jack Handey
