Randy, give Richard at CB pets a call. He's the go to guy when it comes to treating disease.

Go to Reef Central for info on Ich Cure Medicines, I don't think you will get the answer you want on reef safe Ich cures? Pull him out and quarantine. Sometimes for what ever reason fish can not build up there immune system and they get Ich. Everybody seems to notice Ich during the summer because temperature's get above 80 degree's. Good luck

Randy - is there any way you could post a pic? Are you fairly sure that's what the clown has? Are any of your other fish looking sick? Has the clown been eating? How long has the clown been showing the illness?

Robert Fenner recommends continuous exposure to citrated copper sulfate for Amyloodinium (Velvet) and Cryptocaryon (Marine Ich)...of course in a QT tank! Other protozoan possibilities are Brooklynella (common in clowns) and Uronema in which case he recommends Formalin and malachite green (I've also found *slowly* lowering the salinity in the QT tank helps greatly in combination with the Formalin drops). Either way, the clown is going to have to come out of the display tank for med treatments. There are other more natural approaches you could take - cleaner shrimp seem to do a really good job in picking the protozoans off the fish...I'll have to concede that this is hit or miss though, as others have stated their cleaner shrimp don't do a very good job - I guess I must be lucky though...our cleaner shrimp are GREAT at picking off the nasties.

Needless to say, unless you are fairly sure that's what the clown has, you could be treating for the wrong protozoan, and stressing the fish even further without the benefit of the chosen meds doing any good. :unsure
