Cap Dying

Well, I guess that RTN made it to my tank from an acro i bought a week ago..This is the infected coral..One picture as it was the day i bought the cap, the other one, as it is today, it started yesterday with one dead spot....Im going to frag it and hope for the best..

Not really man, one night you go to bed, your coral looks good, and the next morning bam! almost all gone, this thing is quick!!!..check for a white/brownish mucous over parts of the coral..I would strongly suggest you dip them before putting them in your tank..I hope my other corlas dont get infected or whatever this @#$%! is...

You should frag a piece from the side that is not yet affected. At least you might salvage something that way.

I just fraged it all, I got half of it fragged, threw away the rest..man..it hurt..lol

Caps are very delicate and can be killed off by numerous things. Was anything touching it? Have any zoos been killed or fragged in your tank lately? On another note, if your fragged parts look good they also grow very fast in pristine water.

Also I have had many turn white in areas and completely recover in a shorth period of time.

Yeah, I fraged 2 medium sized ones and a small one from that cap, threw the rest away, as soon as i fragged them, i left them on a luglos dip for 20 minutes (1 gallon / 40 drops)..after that i dipped all of my SPSs..I checked calcium and alk. today and they are perfect, except for the Ca. which is a bit high (560)..im just hoping for the best, i shouldnt have this problems by now, so it really bothers me..Everything looks good right now, i dont see that white/brownish mucous on any coral..
