for what it does, its really a good buy:

PH controller for a CA reactor
    light timer
    temp controller

Those 3 things alone make it worth it!

They cut the price on the AC2 lol, i sold mine just in time ;)

Cliff, I have some stuiff in there now, keeping an eye on things to make sure they are stable, a couple of weeks to be fully functional!

    Cool,
I'll be setting my new tank up this summer probably around July and will be checking in on some live rock etc.

PH controller for a CA reactor: Free - I count bubbles
light timer: $15 - Nice electronic timer
temp controller: $45 - Pair of fans in the canopy

That's a total of $60, so when this thing drops to $60 put me down for one. ;)
You forgot to account for replacement cost for probes, the cost of your time for maintenance of the probes, and all the scrambling you have to do when the thing malfunctions that you'll have to do to get your parameters back where they are supposed to be.

Anytime I think about these electronic gizmos, I just remember seeing some folks on here busting their butts when their salinity monitors malfunctioned.

Can anyone tell me what is different between this and a regular aquacontroller? It seems pretty much the same.
