    Default Redesign

After getting tons of help from people here (in posts and private message) I think once my aquarium paramaters are fixed I think I am going to get rid of my fish and rethinking based on the size I have (50 gallon aquarium).

I have two things that I do not want to get rid of. I am keeping my cleaner wrasse and my fist sized tiger cowrie.

I was thinking about adding a yellow tang, some catalina gobies (2 or 3 maybe), and possibly some mushrooms or zoos. I also want to remove my rocks before adding the new fish and adding live rock once I get the algae and cyanobaceria under control.

Any thoughts? Would the cowrie eat the mushrooms or zoos? Any recommendations?

By the way, yes the cowrie is super tough and can survive pretty much anything. It can even move all my rocks around! Cowrie = bulldozer and cleaner wrasse = miniture pig with gills and fins.

The catalina gobies really need a cooler tank as they are native to southern California (as in 60 to 74 degrees). You should really research the tank parameters of all of the inhabitant that you want to keep.

Check out this site for more info on this particular fish.

I am not 100% sure but if they are tank breed then they can take 77 - 78 degrees. But you never can tell where the fish came from. My friend has one of these in a nano that he has had for 3 months now and it seems to be doing fine he keeps the tank at about 77-78. I am sure that it would probably live longer and happier if the temp was lower. I guess we will see what happens.

Ugh, I didn't know that. I was looking around and it seems gobies don't mind living in a small aquarium like mine and neither do clownfish. If I want corals I think it would be a good idea to move my tiger cowrie but it along with my cleaner wrasse are my favorites. Did you ever have to make up your mind? Pick up on one and leave the other behind...

If you have a cleaner wrasse that will eat frozen food then definitely keep it. Most will not and end up starving.

Try looking at something like a high fin or Hector's goby.

Clownfish DO mind living in small aquariums, 25 gallons or bigger.
