    Default Still Cycling

Sorry I didn't get to the meeting, maybe next month. I'm debating on adding any more life to my tank, I already have neat bugs crawling all over the inside I still haven't found the **** gobie I think he grew wings and flew away! I've only seen the 1 flat worm, but I saw a new member tonight when I got home from work, guess he's been really shy so far. It's about an inch long and its some sort of crustacean but other than that I have no idea. Real shy didn't like when I shined the light on him, so I'm guessin he's either strictly nocturnal or a larvae for a larger bug. I think he's an algae eater as he was stuck on corner seal munchin on something, maybe the flatworm? I'll miss the worm if its gone, it was fun watchin it eat. As I now have algae I'm thinking of adding snails and or hermits, think its too soon? Maybe i'll just do a bug tank hahaha! Well thanks for all the help so far, I'll try and post pics as the tank progresses.

lol, "Bug Tank", that's funny :lol

Check your Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels before you add snails or hermits - high levels can wipe these guys out quickly!

Amm & Nitrate should be undetectable, or near 0, Nitrate is not as toxic as the other two, it is not unusual for Nitrate to be 10-20 in a new tank depending on frequency & amount of water changes.

Keep an eye out for your new friend, it could be a bad guy, like a Mantis shrimp? Probably nothing, but if it moves fast and looks mean ... it probably is?
